The user takes a photo or selects one from their gallery and can add a question. BreedPeek returns a likely breed, qualitative confidence, visible physical traits, up to three alternative breeds, possible mixed ancestry, and general breed information. The result may remain undetermined when the image is insufficient.
The app includes user accounts, private scan history, and free or Premium access. It is built with Flutter and supports French, English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese. Development and a future photo-analysis integration.
We plan to use Claude to improve the Flutter app, support debugging and development, and prepare the iOS release. We also plan to integrate the Claude API into the app’s image-analysis flow.
The Claude API integration is planned and has not yet been deployed.
User input
A user-selected dog photo, an optional question, and the selected language.
Claude analysis
Analyze visible traits and produce a visual breed estimate with explicit uncertainty.
App result
Return structured JSON for the app to display: likely breed, qualitative confidence, physical clues, alternatives, and general breed information.
Before rollout, we plan to evaluate result quality, JSON compatibility, response time, and cost per scan, including mixed-breed and undetermined cases. Privacy information will be updated when the processing changes. Estimates will remain informational and will not establish genetic ancestry or provide veterinary diagnoses.
